TiGames is keeping up its animal antics with the latest gameplay trailer for Zoopunk, a third-person action game coming to PC and consoles in 2027.
If the anthropomorphic characters featured in the new Xbox Partner Showcase trailer seem at all familiar, that’s because it’s being made as a prequel to the team's previous game, F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch. Zoopunk will take things in a slightly different direction, though, with its footage showcasing a healthy dose of gameplay footage featuring a character who’s in search of a mysterious object known as Spark.
Zoopunk takes place decades before FIST, giving fans the chance to relive moments from its animal punk world's history. While scurrying through a universe that will no doubt be fleshed out with the events of Zoopunk, players will also meet new furry and scaly characters who each have their own abilities to use.
Braton the Rhino, for example, is described as a brawler who uses a flame sword to fight, while Rayton the Rabbit focuses on quick-hit melee combat. There's also Trixie the Chipmunk, another playable character who can use acrobatics to get in and get out of a fight in a pinch.
"Set decades before the events of F.I.S.T.," a story description from TiGames says, "ZOOPUNK expands the beloved Animal Punk universe, chronicling the turbulent origins of Torch City, an animal metropolis on the brink of revolution. Fans familiar with F.I.S.T. will recognise some familiar yet new details, offering both nostalgia and discovery as they explore this vibrant new story."
Zoopunk brings its sci-fi animal combat to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S in 2027. Every other highlight from today' Xbox Partner Preview can be seen in our everything announced coverage right here.
