If you’re in the market for a new game console, you’ll definitely want to consider this deal. Best Buy has a new bundle that comes with an Xbox Series X, as well as Forza Horizon 6 and the limited-edition Forza Horizon 6 Xbox Wireless Controller, all for $659.97. That saves you $150 off MSRP. Considering the across-the-board console price hikes in recent years, that’s a killer discount, and the best Xbox deal we’ve seen in a while.
Here’s a breakdown of the pricing for the individual items in the bundle:
So, effectively, you’re getting all three items for just $10 more than you’d normally pay for the console alone. And while I haven’t played Forza Horizon 6 since it’s not out yet, I’ve played most of the previous installments and they’re all phenomenal. Forza Horizon is my favorite racing game series by far. And I love the ‘90s callback vibes of that Forza Horizon 6 Xbox controller. It looks terrific, and you can even get a matching charging dock and headset if you want to.
While the Xbox Series X is trailing PS5 considerably in console sales, I have both devices and I actually prefer playing games on Xbox Series X whenever possible. I like the interface better. I like the Quick Resume feature. I like how the backwards compatibility goes all the way back to the original Xbox (for select games, anyway). I like how you automatically get the Series X upgrade for free for most games.
There’s a new head of Xbox, Asha Sharma, and she’s hit the ground running. She’s already floating new ideas for the future of the platform, and has even cut the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It’s now $7 cheaper per month, and all you lose is day-one access to future Call of Duty games. Plus, GTA 6 will only be available on consoles at launch, and you'll be able to play it on Xbox Series X this November.
I don't know about you, but I've felt pretty disheartened seeing the console price increases this generation. This deal is sort of like a time machine to the before time, before the tariffs, before the RAM shortage, to a time when your dollar went further when buying a game console. A deal like this is good to see.
